"Bad" actors include those who approach their work mainly from the audience's perspective, rather than as fierce advocates for their characters. In other words, they place a high value on techniques that most clearly indicate to the audience how the character is supposed to be feeling at any given moment. Such techniques are not without tradition or value, but, at the very least, they are aesthetically outdated.
